The Greater Yellowstone Coalition seeks a creative, highly motivated Development & Marketing Coordinator to lead a team to raise a $3 million operating budget. Candidate should have college degree + five years minimum development experience; demonstrated creative writing, speaking, negotiating skills; sensitivity to subtleties of dealing with major funders; experience in developing budgets; and familiarity with fund raising software.  Prefer capital campaign experience, knowledge of issues in Greater Yellowstone and the West. Wilderness and Recreation Partnership Contractor

Background: The Wilderness Recreation Partnership (WRP) is dedicated to preserving and improving bicycle trails while protecting Wilderness lands throughout the Gallatin National Forest. WRP works in partnership with the Gallatin National Forest and conservation and recreational groups throughout Gallatin, Park and Madison Counties to realize its vision. This contract is funded by the Greater Yellowstone Coalition, Montana Wilderness Association and the Montana Wilderness Society.  The Greater Yellowstone Coalition will be the contract administrator. Scope of Work: Contractor will be responsible for coordinating activities of the Wilderness and Recreation Partnership including but not limited to:

  • Communicating the goals, vision and activities of WRP to the public and media
  • Planning, organizing and implementing trails projects
  • Generating public support for WRP’s mission
  • Recruiting and retaining volunteers
  • Securing funding for WRP’s programs and activities
  • Working closely with partners to coordinate conservation activities to protect the Gallatin Range
  • Working with Gallatin Campaign partners and WRP advisory committee to develop a program and fundraising plan to advance the mission and vision of WRP as a stand-alone organization
